Grade 7 learners from Ngqatyana Primary Schools were given motivational words in a tie ceremony that was held at that school last week.

The school principal, Wandile Ngceba, said that his school had hosted this event with the aim of motivating learners and to promote cleanliness among them. It was the first time his school had hosted such an event.

“Our school did not have activities, so we (have introduced the tie ceremony to) promote the culture of learning and teaching. Also, this would help other learners who are still in the lower grades to work hard so that they can reach this level,” said Ngceba.

He added that they also wanted to give them some advice since they would be going to other schools next year. He added that this would also boost their confidence.

The treasurer of the school governing body, Sithembele Sihlava, said they were happy that their school was growing, and they were looking forward to seeing new things happening at this school.

“We are not doing this for fun but to show the learners that they are role models of learners who are still in lower grades.”
