After the ABC Motsepe League Eastern Cape Stream B side, Sinenkani FC, were knocked out in the last 16 of Nedbank Cup Competition by Limpopo outfit, Tshakhuma FC, over the weekend, they need to change their focus to league title race.
Bizana team, Sinenkani FC, were the only team left representing the Eastern Cape in the Nedbank Cup, after Chippa United were knocked out by Amatuks in the first round of the competition.
Supporters were hoping that Sinenkani FC would progress to the next round of the competition but, unfortunately, GladAfrica Championship side, Tshakhuma FC, were too strong, as they defeated co-head coach Tshepo Motsoeneng’s chargers 3-0 at Mthatha Stadium in Mthatha over the weekend.
After the disappointing result, Motsoeneng’s troops are expected to change their focus to the league where they are fighting for top spot position. Currently, BCM Stars FC is topping the Stream B League table with 31 points, followed by Sinenkani FC, with 29 points.
Both teams have two games remaining before they wrap up their seasons.
AmaMpondo United FC is sitting in third place with 29 points and one game remaining.
It means the top teams have a better opportunity to win the Stream B league title but they need to avoid dropping points in their remaining fixtures.
This weekend, league leaders, BCM Stars FC, will host AmaMpondo United FC in a must-win clash to keep their top position, while serious contenders, Sinenkani FC, will entertain bottom side, Swartkops Valley United Brothers, at home.
In other ABC Motsepe League fixtures, Birmingham City will travel to Bush Pirates and Matta Milan will host Thohoyandou FC. All the games will be played on Saturday, March 19.
