Suspect wanted for killing man after losing game of pool

Police detectives from Cofimvaba are following up on all information that could lead to the arrest of a suspect who shot and killed a man (38) in a local tavern in Cofimvaba over the weekend.

who shot and killed a man (38) in a local tavern in Cofimvaba over the
weekend.

It is alleged that the suspect arrived at the Nondala tavern at 20:00 in Cofimvaba.  

According to Police spokesperson, Captain Lariane Jonker,
he befriended the deceased and his two male companions and drank beers with
them. After playing pool and having lost the game, he produced a firearm and
shot and killed the deceased.

“After the incident he left the tavern and is still at large. The SAPS request the community to come forward with any
information that could lead to the apprehension and arrest of this
perpetrator,” she said.

Jonker urged those who have an information about the whereabouts
of the suspects to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer M. Thembani on 078 979 3939 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
