A TEACHER from Holy Cross Senior Secondary School, in Mthatha, has written a second book, which will be used by Walter Sisulu University (WSU) to educate students who are doing second year in isiXhosa this semester.

This was confirmed by the writer of this novel, Yamkela Ntwalana (29), from Lindile location in Mthatha. He said he gave this book the title, Ivezandlebe (Illegitimate child), to educate people about the pain that is caused when children are called names.

“I want people to stop treating illegitimate children as if they are not human beings. It is painful that they are not accepted by the community or even by their family members.

“This is my second book. I wrote the first one with my student, Mbasa Gogotya, and it was titled Tyatyadula Siba lwam. I write in Xhosa because I teach Xhosa language at school,” said Ntwalana.

He added that his aim was to show readers the importance of loving their own language.

“Those who are interested to get our books could contact me on 073 390 0921, or go to Van Schaik Bookstore at WSU.”
