A teacher from Zwelidumile Senior Secondary School in Willowvale, Qaphela Majola, is on a mission to empower people as he will host a new programme on Keith Ngesi Radio Online Livestream, as from February 3.
The title of the show is Social Echo, and it will be broadcast from 11:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays.
Majola, who resides at the Bhomela locality in Dutywa, is also a well-known programme director in the Eastern Cape.
He confirmed that he was always interested in being a radio presenter.
According to him, he was a programme director in the collaring of Reverend Khakhalethu Manti from the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, when his dream started to take shape in November 2023.
“I did not know that the founder of Keith Ngesi Radio, Keith Ngesi, was at the same event where he noticed me since I was a programme director. On the second incident I went with my colleagues to celebrate our year-end party at Wavecrest Beach Resort in Centane.
“When we arrived there, we found officials from the Eastern Cape Tourism Board launching the festive season. Ngesi was also there; he greeted me and I did not know that he knew me.”
Majola added that after their conversation he told him about his interest of being a radio presenter.
“After our conversation, he then asked me to send him a concept, which I did at the beginning of this month. He was very interested and he then granted me this opportunity to be on his radio.”
