THUNDERBIRDS Ladies, from Butterworth, are starting to find their feet in the Hollywoodbets Super League, after they struggled in their previous seven league encounters.

It looks as though Thunderbirds Ladies have turned the corner, after they collected maximum points over the weekend to claim two successive wins.

Over the weekend, Thunderbirds Ladies thrashed bottom side, Tsunami Queens FC, 4-0 at home, to register their third victory of the season.

The result has helped coach, Thembalethu Apleni’s, team to improve their league standings from 10th position to occupy the eighth spot, with 11 points after 10 games.

It is the first time this season that Apleni’s chargers have managed to win back-to-back matches and also reached the top eight teams.

Earlier this season, the Butterworth outfit were struggling when they played to two draws and suffered five defeats, after recording a victory in the opening fixture against Durban Ladies’ FC.

Recently, things started to change for Thunderbirds since Apleni’s side registered their second victory of the season against University of Johannesburg FC by winning 1-0 away from home.

They kept a clean sheet, which was something that they had been struggling to attain.

Similarly, over the weekend against Tsunami Queens FC, Apleni’s team managed to keep another clean sheet, to show that they are regaining their form.

However, this weekend, they will need to put their strong game plan to work when they host Richmond United, who are in ninth position with 11 points after 10 games.

The game will take place at Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Saturday afternoon and should the home side win, they will move up to seventh in the log standings.
