Thunderbirds Ladies, from Butterworth, are continuing to impress in the Hollywoodbets Super League this season.

This comes after coach Thembalethu Apleni’s side, Thunderbirds Ladies, registered another important win away when they defeated newcomers, City Lads’ FC, 2–0 in Gqeberha over the weekend.

The win has helped coach Apleni’s side register their third consecutive victory since the season started last month.

These wins have also improved the league standings of the Butterworth team, as they moved from fourth place to third, with nine points.

As things stand, Apleni’s ladies are equal with the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns’ Ladies, who are leading at the top of Hollywoodbets Super League table with same number of points and a better goal difference.

Last season, at this stage in the league, Apleni’s ladies were sitting outside the top four teams, as they were not consistent in winning games, at home and away, but this season it looks as though the Butterworth team has managed to find their feet in the early fixtures.

The aim of the team this season is to finish in the top four and the way things are happening for now, it looks as though their mission will be possible.

But they need to keep on collecting maximum points, as they will be hosting the University of the Western Cape (UWC) midweek at Sisa Dukashe Stadium, after travelling to TUT Football Club this Sunday.

Both of their opponents have tasted wins this season and it means the Butterworth team will need to work to get points from these games.
