Thunderbirds Ladies, from Butterworth, are looking forward to registering another important victory this weekend when they will be hosting Durban team, Durban Ladies’ FC, in a Hollywoodbets Super League clash in Mdantsane.
This follows after Thunderbirds Ladies started their Hollywoodbets Super League campaign with a positive result, when they defeated Golden Ladies’ FC 2-1, in an away match, over the weekend.
With this important start, coach Thembalethu Apleni’s ladies will be aiming at building on this performance when they host Durban Ladies at Sisa Dukashe, in Mdantsane, this Saturday afternoon.
The Durban team is expected to make things difficult for the home side, as they will be also aiming at not dropping points away.
Currently, Thunderbirds Ladies are fifth on the league table, while Durban Ladies were not scheduled to play over the weekend.
Though this weekend fixture is expected to be highly contested between these two sides, coach Apleni and his ladies will be happy to continue with their impressive start.
Last season the Butterworth team started their league campaign with a win against the same team, Golden Ladies, at Sisa Dukashe stadium, but after that they lost their next three fixtures.
This time around, Apleni’s team will be hoping to avoid that situation, as they also reinforced their squad so that they can compete for a place in the top four, this season.
