THUNDERBIRDS Ladies’ coach, Phumlani Matshobeni , and his team, were left disappointed after they suffered a 5-1 defeat at home against Hollywoodbets Super League defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, over the weekend.
Butterworth team, Thunderbirds Ladies, went into the encounter aiming at bouncing back from their 5-2 defeat against Bloemfontein Celtic recently.
Matshobeni’s team was also aiming at improving their league standings by collecting all maximum points, but things did not go according to their plan as they suffered another big score line defeat at the hands of the defending champions.
After this league encounter, which was held at Gelvandale Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon, Matshobeni said that they were very disappointed with the results, but they were hoping that they would bounce back in their next fixture.
He said they needed to work on their defence and other areas before they hosted First Touch FC at Sisa Dukashe this Saturday.
After these two recent defeats, Thunderbirds Ladies have dropped from sixth to ninth in the league table.
So far this season, the Butterworth team has lost three games, drawn one and won three games.
