THE chief executive officer (CEO), of Thuswa Legacy, Veliswa Maduna, will be hosting a Women in Business Empowerment seminar at Umtata Bowling Club in Mthatha on Saturday, September 25.

Maduna said the aim of hosting this seminar was to revive the business spirit, as she believed that throwing the towel in was definitely not a plan.

Maduna said she took this decision after she saw people’s vision became blurred due to lack of funds, COVID-19, and their failing efforts.

“It would be my first time to host this event and I plan to make it annual and bigger. I started this event to bring back hope, help people unite and network. Helping each other get to the top is my priority,” she said.

Maduna said it would make women value themselves more and believe that nothing was impossible.

The art of hustling should be emphasised until something happens, and this event would leave the attendees uplifted, whether they are in business already or still thinking of going into business.

“Some of the topics that we would be talking about would include how and why one should invest, the power of a praying woman, journey of business, learn to save, how the pandemic has affected our business and how to bounce back, fixing each other’s crowns as women, etc.

“These topics would be covered by a list of guest speakers who are inspirational business women of Mthatha.”

Maduna is also a drama coach, teaching acting, poetry, spiritual dance and public speaking skills.

“I have afternoon classes for children aged between five and 18. I empower the young ones to learn to voice their opinions, have confidence in themselves and be able to present well.”

Tickets to the seminar are sold at R150, which include refreshments and entertainment. At an additional fee of R100, people can display their products/pamphlets in one of the stalls. Call or WhatsApp 081 086 1254 for tickets.
