Kwakuhle Development Solutions, in partnership with Imbo Youth Development Initiative from Gatyana (Willowvale), will celebrate Youth Month by hosting a two-day u/15 tournament on June 15 and 16 in Luvundu village.

The aim of the event is to contribute to rural sport development and also take youth away from wrongdoings.

Soccer, netball teams from different villages in the Mbhashe area are expected to participate in the event.

Event organiser, Malixole Teketa, said they have included boxing this year, as well as other sport, arts and culture activities.

“In our second edition of the tournament, we have decided to include horse racing, boxing and cultural activities, like traditional dancing groups, which will compete against each other during the event,” said Teketa.

Furthermore, he said, they have invited various government departments and the police to make awareness presentations, to motive the youth and also encourage those who wanted to start cooperative projects in the near future.

In conclusion, he said, all local teams, dancing groups, and cooperative projects are welcome to come and to be part of the event, which will be held at Zwelidumile Senior Secondary School in Luvundu Village.

The teams who do well in the tournament are expected to go home with big prizes. Last year’s champions, Luvundu FC u/15, will be there to defend their title.
