TWO learners from Colosa Senior Secondary School in Dutywa had been “adopted” by a well-known gospel artist, Bunono Mxokwana, after they showed their talent in music. Mxokwana said that after he saw the talent of Kanyisa Kufa and Similar Ndude, he decided to do something in order to uplift them.
The school was hosting a talent show to allow the learners to display their different talents.
Mxokwana confirmed that he had identified them and granted them recording deals (a single recording).
He said learners were encouraged to give support and love learners who are living with a disability, as shown in the drama production that was also performed at this school.
“The drama will be performed again on June 15, during Youth Month, because we believe people need to see this wonderful work from this school. We are expecting other stakeholders to partner with us on this day,” said Mxokwana.
According to the organiser and the chairperson for entertainment committee, Yandile Rhoshe, it was their first time hosting this event.
“Our aim was to give a chance to those learners who are talented to show their gifts. As the school, we understand that not all learners are good in their schoolwork. Some may be able to use their (artistic) talents for a living,” said Rhoshe.
He added that they had seen lots of talent and they were happy that Mxokwana was able to assist the learners he had “adopted”.
