Police confirmed today, February 21, that the number of suspects fatally wounded in the shoot-out with officers on the N2 near Ndabakazi, outside Butterworth, on February 20, has increased to seven.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa, said the other vehicle was stuck on the riverbank, where four AK-47 rifles and two pistols were recovered.
“The SAPS K9 Search and Rescue team was summoned, and one body was retrieved from the river,” Mawisa reported.
“The investigation is ongoing,” she added.
