CANCELLED – Win Your Share of R10 000 Cash: Nominate Your Favourite Business

To give recognition to businesses with an excellent track record of providing good service, Mthatha Express is running a competition where readers can win their share of R10 000 in cash.

The winning businesses will receive bragging rights, having been chosen by their customers as the Best Biz. All readers have to do to stand a chance of winning weekly cash prizes of R500 each, is fill in a survey (which should not take longer than five minutes) where they nominate the business of their choice in various categories.

In addition to the weekly prizes for those who nominate businesses, there is a first prize of R5 000, a second prize of R2 000, and a third prize of R1 000 up for grabs.

Readers’ winning entries will be drawn via a lucky draw.

Entry is open now and closes on 28 August 12:00.

Only businesses in the Mthatha Express distribution area may be nominated, and only one entry per person will be accepted. To enter, go to the www.mthathaexpress.co.za or Mthatha Express Facebook page, click on the link, and complete the link. All the categories in the form must be answered to qualify. You may only nominate one business per category.

RULES

1. Only one entry per person per ballot will be accepted.
2. 100% of the ballot must be completed to qualify.
3. All correctly filled entries will go through to the final lucky draw.
4. Winners will be notified by phone, and ALL BALLOTS (including the R500 winners) will go through to the final draw.
5. Participation in the competition implies acceptance of all terms, rules, and conditions of the agreement between Mthatha Express and the participant.
6. Persons who are a director, member, partner, employee, agent, or consultant of Mthatha Express (or the agencies involved in this promotion) or a spouse, life partner, parent (including adopted and in-law), brother or sister (including adopted), or any business partner or associate of a person mentioned above, may not participate.
7. Mthatha Express reserves the right to interview finalists and winners, take photos, and publish them.
8. The names of prize winners will be announced in Mthatha Express where possible.
9. All entries become the property of Mthatha Express and will be recorded in the database.
10. The promoter is Mthatha Express. If legislation or changes in legislation require it, Mthatha Express ess will have the right to terminate this promotion immediately and without notice.
11. Mthatha Express accepts no responsibility for any tax obligations arising from the acceptance of prizes.
12. All participants indemnify Mthatha Express, as well as the agencies involved in this promotion, from all damages and/or costs arising from claims due to participation in the competition and/or use of prizes.
13. The decision of the editor of Mthatha Express in any dispute related to the game and the prizes is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. All unclaimed prizes may, at the discretion of the organizers, be combined with other prizes and offered as instant prizes.
15. Mthatha Express cannot be held responsible for any lost, damaged, stolen, incomplete, or illegible entries.
16. Once we have received and processed all the ballots, the lucky draws will be conducted.
17. ALL ENTRIES that are correctly filled out will be eligible for the lucky draw.
18. All prizes must be claimed with in 3 months of the competion

Tie-Breaking Rules

• Two-way tie for 1st place: Both nominees share 1st place, next highest becomes 2nd place, following nominee becomes 3rd place
• Three-way tie for 1st place: All three nominees share 1st place, no 2nd or 3rd place winners
• Two-way tie for 2nd place: One 1st place winner, both tied nominees share 2nd place, no 3rd place winner
• Two-way tie for 3rd place: One 1st place, one 2nd place, both tied nominees share 3rd place. If nomination details are unclear or incomplete, the General Manager will have sole discretion to determine whether the nomination can be counted
• All decisions by the General Manager regarding nomination validity are final.

Split Large Categories
• If a category receives 10+ tied nominations, we will be splitting it into sub-categories by area/type
• Example: “Best Restaurant” becomes “Best Restaurant – North Area” and “Best Restaurant – South Area”
