The Mthatha Citizen and Youth Development Inch will host its second edition Winter Cup 2022 tournament in July.
The tournament is organised by qualified and experienced referee, Jongabantu Ngcuthushe, who is the founder of the Youth Development Inch.
The aim of Youth Development Inch is to educate young people to find the correct careers and fight poverty and unemployment in the Eastern Cape.
Ngcuthushe said the tournament aims at raising awareness about gender-based violence and fighting other youth and crime-related issues.
At the time of going to print, all the 32 teams were already registered.
The Winter Cup tournament is expected to take place from July 9 to 10, and the matches are to be played at the Rotary Stadium, Cicira Sports Ground and Sports Field.
The overall soccer winner will go home with R18 000, soccer kits, trophy, and gold medals.
The tournament organising committee of the Winter Cup includes the president, Jongabantu Ngcuthushe, vice president, Nosiphiwe Semane, treasurer, Lutho Mhlonitshwa and liaison officer, Phila Sibulele Mankana.
