A TOTAL of 81 goals were scored in the first weekend of the Winter Cup Tournament in Mthatha this past weekend.
This is the second edition of this tournament and was organised by Jongabantu Ngcuthushe, who is the founder of Youth Development Inch.
Mhlonitshwa Lutho, who is the treasurer of the tournament, said the first games of the Winter Cup 2022 went very well and there were no complaints raised by the teams.
Out of 32 teams competing this past weekend, the best four proceeded to the semi-finals.
Those who proceeded to the semi-finals were FC Rovers from Elliotdale, Juventus FC from Libode, Mangce FC from Idutywa and Injula FC from Butterworth.
The semi-finals and finals are going to take place on Saturday, July 16, at Rotary Stadium.
The overall winner of this tournament will go home with R18 000, a soccer kit and gold medals.
