Youth from Ncihana location in Elliotdale have launched a project to uplift the standards of their community by ensuring that they educate each other about right and wrong.
This was confirmed by the spokesperson for Ncihana Community Development, Sibongiseni Delihlazo, stating that they started this forum in 2020, with the aim of having a platform where youth could vent about their challenges.
He said it was formed by some of the youth from that area who are already working now.
“We saw that the future of our brothers and sisters is in danger due to the life they are living, which does not show any good results. We then started this forum with the aim of advising them and assisting where we can,” said Delihlazo. He said that to ensure that they fulfil their dream, they had hosted different sporting codes in December last year and bought sports kit for players.
He said they had handed over uniforms to 51 learners from Ncihana Primary School, with the aim of bringing back their dignity.
The principal of the school, Mandlenkosi Msipha, said learners were more than happy about the donation because they gained confidence like other learners.
“This forum helped us a lot because we have seen the change from our children. It is painful when you see some learners who are struggling,” said Msipha.
He said they hoped that this forum would keep on supporting learners.
